Undertow Makes a Splash with New Cocktail Menus
Undertow, an immersive, nautical-themed cocktail bar recently expanded its footprint to Gilbert. The original location, opened in 2016 by parent company Barter & Shake, takes guests aboard the Clipper ship of Captain John Mallory and entices patrons with worldly and exotic cocktails. Prisma partnered with Undertow to extend this vision to its new Gilbert location with the production of storybook style cocktail menus. The menus, a 40-page, case bound book, immerse guests in the lore of Captain John Mallory and his crew. Each page includes detailed illustrations to accompany the story along with descriptions of each of the establishment’s unique cocktail offerings.

Undertow’s style is uniquely curated to provide an adventure for every guest, and its new menu had to be crafted to reflect that style. Gold foil was stamped and embossed on the front cover along with a Soft Touch Laminate to evoke a treasure-like feel. The pages were printed on 100# Silk Book with an aging, weathered background to ensure the look and feel of a pirate storybook was achieved.
Prisma is proud to have helped bring this unique menu project to life, and can’t wait to set sail on another adventurous menu soon.
“You’d think that with a company that does the volume of work that Prisma does wouldn’t have time to help you with your passion project– and you’d be wrong. Our menu books are the culmination of six months of development, creativity, and communication. Each one requires a level of eccentricity (read: insanity) that we thoroughly enjoy. Working with Prisma made the entire process smoother, cleaner– and dare I say, the final product is more gorgeous than we could have dreamed.”
