On January 26th, the US Postal Service filed a pricing change with the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC). This means that the post office wants to increase postage in many different categories.
Some key elements of the pricing proposal include:
- An overall 3.4 percent price increase
- No price increase in domestic Priority Mail Express and Priority Mail services and products
- Priority Mail International will increase 6.8 percent, and pricing to Canada will now be zoned
- Priority Mail Express International will increase 6.7 percent with Flat Rate pricing available
The PRC will review these prices and, if approved, the changes will go in to effect on April 26th, 2015. For more information, check out this USPS official news brief.
